Ukrainian questions for those who know more than me....

I saw something earlier that Russia exports it's oil to Western Europe through pipelines that run through the Ukraine. Why doesn't Ukraine shut down the pipelines? Why let Russia continue to profit? Wouldn't Western Europe be forced to do something at that point? Just curious--seems like something you would do if your country is being invaded. I haven't been watching 24-7 so maybe it's already being done.
